So last week (Friday 30th May 2025) we got our first report of an issue in the Outlook client we ship with our Sage CRM Accelerator versions (Pro/Plus and Lite)
We dont ship this for other products as they only ship via the Micrsosoft App source store.

It seems a webview2 update caused the issue. This is the chromium browser wrapper that Microsoft ship that we use to embed a browser into the Taskpane and dialog windows on this add in.
This is installed as an Evergreen module so it auto updates. The draw back of this is that an update here can break our add in. We did look at shipping a fixed version but the installer then was 355mb and just way too large to do this.
Symptoms of this include a dialog asking to restart outlook
and/or an error in the Ribbon
Sometimes the settings dialog shows no version for the webview also.
The fixed dialog looks as follows
with the webview version as 137
We are taking steps to see how we can mitigate around this but any update would still require that the client be installed again on the PC.
Of course you could also migrate to the 365 client and this is where Microsoft are pushing us all. So at some stage this is what everyone will be using.
