So as you may be aware Microsoft have been promoting New Outlook though it has not been covered under support.

That all changed on 1st Aug 2024 and it is now covered.

For now New Outlook is still an opt-in experience but the next step is that this will change to an opt out experience. No dates are available for this as yet but there will be  12 months notice on this happening.

Some of the comments on the article are brutal…worth a read though. It does feel like a step backwards and add-ons are really mailbox add-ons and not Outlook (as you have to add it per mailbox).

Following the email with the link above Cameron then sent out this

“Control the installation and use of new Outlook”

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/outlook/get-started/control-install?WT.mc_id=M365-MVP-5002900

This tells sys admins how to block users from upgrading. I would imagine this will be a heavily bookmarked page.

Another email then

“New Outlook – Official Resources and Links”
